2027 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education (DE) has released the statewide Prep enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their student into Prep at a Victorian government primary school.

The timeline will apply for all children starting Prep in 2027. All government primary schools follow the timeline in 2026 to support Prep enrolments for the 2027 school year.

Our school is using an online system for new enrolments to Victorian government schools called VicStudents.  Vic Students is available for students who are enrolling in a Victorian Government School for the first time.  This includes Prep enrolments at Cranbourne South Primary for 2027.

VicStudents has been assessed by the Department of Education to a high degree of security in line with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and is compliant with ISO 27001, the leading international standard for information security.

You will be able to apply to enrol your student in Prep for 2027 at Cranbourne South Primary School from Monday 20th April, 2026.

What you need to do:

1. Find your zoned school – which is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au this site has the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

2. Book a school tour to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process. You can call us on 9782 2999 or email at Cranbourne.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au to confirm at date that suits you. The current tour dates available are :
– Monday 27th April 10am
– Thursday 21st May 10am
– Tuesday 9th June 10am
– Monday 22nd June 10am

3. After your tour – you can commence an online enrolment, visit https://students.educationapps.vic.gov.au/s/ to create an account and complete the online application form. Please ensure that all documents required are attached to the application.

4. Submit an enrolment application for Prep by Friday 31 July 2026.

5. You will be notified of the outcome of your application by Friday 14 August 2026.

Your student will start Prep on Thursday 28 January 2027.

Enrolment applications submitted after 31 July 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.

2026 Enrolment Restriction

Our school has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic). The restriction limits enrolments for the 2026 school year.

Our school will accept enrolments from:

• students who live within the school zone
• students with a sibling attending the school at the same time
• students enrolling on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances.

Depending on available places, our school may be able to accept a limited number of out-of-zone enrolments according to next closest to the school.

The department will review this enrolment restriction yearly and provide updated advice as necessary for the subsequent school year.
